AAA+ grade smudge sticks and sacred cleansing herbs, sourced from authenticated, ethical, and sustainable growers — nothing less, never.
"We never settle for second grade. Every bundle, every stick, every leaf is AAA+ quality — because the ritual deserves nothing less."
Smudging is one of humanity's oldest cleansing traditions. From the sacred forests of Peru to the coastal plains of California, the plants we carry have been used for thousands of years to purify spaces, uplift energy, and support healing. Our role is simply to source them with integrity and put them in the hands of those who need them.
Top 1% of each harvest. Never compromised.
Responsibly cultivated. Not over-harvested from the wild.
Every supplier verified, every batch traceable.
Fair to growers, respectful of the plant and the land.
Smudging — the burning of sacred plants and resins to cleanse energy, clear spaces, and restore balance — is one of the most ancient spiritual practices known to human culture. Indigenous traditions from the Americas to the Indian subcontinent have long understood what science is now confirming: burning certain botanicals has measurable antimicrobial, mood-enhancing, and restorative effects.
At Gurugee's, we carry this tradition forward with absolute respect for its origins — sourcing only from growers and farmers who cultivate with care, harvest with intention, and maintain the quality that these sacred plants deserve.
"Quality in sourcing is not a preference. It is a responsibility — to the plant, to the tradition, and to every person who lights it in their home."
Six sacred botanicals. One uncompromising standard.
Holy Wood
AAA+
Bursera graveolens — South America
Harvested only from naturally fallen trees in Peru and Ecuador, Palo Santo fills any space with a warm, sweet citrus-wood smoke that grounds, uplifts, and gently clears heavy energy. Revered for centuries in Andean spiritual traditions.
Californian White Sage
AAA+
Salvia apiana — California, USA
The gold standard of smudging. Sustainably cultivated Californian White Sage is the most powerful plant for energetic cleansing — clearing negativity, purifying spaces, and resetting the atmosphere of any room. Used in Native American ceremony for millennia.
Blue Sage
AAA+
Salvia clevelandii — Western USA
Also known as Grandmother Sage, Blue Sage is softer and more floral than White Sage, with a lighter, sweeter smoke. It is traditionally used for healing, calm, and inviting positive energy — perfect for spaces that need a gentle lift rather than deep clearing.
Juniper
AAA+
Juniperus sp. — North America
With its bold, piney, forest-fresh aroma, Juniper is one of the most powerfully protective smudging herbs. Used by Native American peoples for purification and protection ceremonies, its clean, resinous smoke is known to drive away negativity and invite strength and clarity.
Holy Herb
AAA+
Eriodictyon californicum — California, USA
Translated as "Holy Herb," Yerba Santa is unlike any other smudging plant — it works specifically on the heart. It gently releases old grief, sadness, and emotional wounds, restoring courage, self-love, and openness. An ally for the Heart Chakra (Anahata) and emotional healing.
Dragon Blood
AAA+
Salvia apiana + Dragon Blood Resin
White sage bundles infused with the deep crimson Dragon Blood resin — one of the most powerful cleansing combinations in the plant world. Dragon Blood amplifies purification, fortifies love and strength, and adds a rich, resinous depth to the smoke. Striking in appearance, potent in effect.
Four simple steps to a meaningful smudging ritual
Before lighting, hold the smudge stick and set a clear intention — what energy are you releasing, and what are you inviting in? Intention is the heart of the practice.
Hold the tip over a flame for 10–15 seconds until it catches. Blow out the flame gently — the stick should smoulder and produce a steady, fragrant smoke rather than burn with a flame.
Walk slowly through the room, allowing smoke to drift into corners, doorways and windows. Move in a clockwise direction. Use a feather or your hand to waft smoke intentionally.
Press the smouldering tip firmly into a fireproof dish to extinguish. Open windows to let the smoke carry away what has been released. Offer thanks to the plant and the tradition.
White Sage, Palo Santo, and many smudging botanicals face pressure from over-harvesting as global demand grows. At Gurugee's, we take this responsibility seriously. We source only from authenticated suppliers who grow and harvest with documented sustainable practices.
This is not just a supply chain decision — it is a values decision. The traditions these plants carry deserve to continue. The communities who tend them deserve fair support. And the buyers who use them deserve the confidence that their purchase is part of the solution, not the problem.
AAA+ grade smudge sticks for wellness retailers, gift stores, yoga studios, spiritual shops and export buyers. Small and large orders welcome.
