Dedicated to all Mothers
100% natural incense sticks — not just handcrafted, but homemade. Born in a mother's kitchen from home-grown herbs and Indian spices, sun-dried and ground by hand using traditional methods passed down through generations. Hand-rolled by women in a cottage industry. No chemicals. No synthetic fragrances. Just pure nature.
Mother Incense is not a factory product. It is a family recipe — a labour of love that begins in a home garden where tulsi, bay leaves, coriander and a dozen other herbs grow under the Bangalore sun. These are tended to, harvested by hand, and laid out to dry naturally on sun-warmed stone.
"My mother has been making this blend since I can remember. Every morning, she would grind the spices, add a touch of ghee, and the whole house would fill with the most grounding, earthy fragrance you've ever experienced."
Once dried, the herbs and spices are ground by hand — the old way, using stone — releasing oils that no mechanical process can replicate. The unique recipe is then brought together in our mother's kitchen, combined with pure ghee and natural binding resins, before being hand-rolled by the skilled hands of women from the local cottage industry community.
Every ingredient is home-grown or locally sourced, sun-dried and hand-ground. No synthetic fragrances. No chemical binders. Just the honest gifts of the earth.
This is the process as it has always been. Slow, careful, and done entirely by hand. Each batch is small. Each stick is intentional.
Herbs are grown in our own home garden — tulsi, bay leaf, and seasonal botanicals — and harvested at peak potency in the early morning hours.
All herbs and spices are spread on clean cotton cloth and dried under full sun for several days, concentrating their natural oils and aromatic compounds.
Dried ingredients are ground by hand using traditional stone grinders. This cold-grinding method preserves delicate volatile oils that are destroyed by machine heat.
The unique recipe is brought together in our mother's kitchen. She adds pure ghee and natural binding resin in precise proportions that only her hands know.
The blended paste is hand-rolled onto bamboo sticks by women from the local cottage industry, each stick pressed and shaped with care and experience.
Finished sticks are air-cured to set the blend, then carefully wrapped in butter paper and packed in either the traditional 120g box or eco kraft 10-stick pack.
Sticks in two pack sizes, or charcoal-free cones for your bakhoor burner — all made from the same pure recipe, all wrapped with the same care.

The pure herbs-and-spices blend pressed into hand-made cones. Charcoal-free — they need a charcoal ember or an electric bakhoor burner to release their fragrance, giving you a slower, cleaner aromatic experience.
The same pure herbs-and-spices recipe, pressed into hand-made cones — an ancient format beloved for its slow, smouldering fragrance release. Charcoal-free by nature.
Unlike conventional incense cones that use charcoal as a base to sustain combustion, Mother Incense Cones are charcoal-free. They are made entirely from the compressed herb-and-spice paste — the same recipe as the sticks — and shaped by hand into their characteristic cone form.
Because they contain no self-combusting charcoal, they need an external heat source to burn. They are designed for use on a glowing charcoal ember or on the warm plate of an electric incense or bakhoor burner — releasing their fragrance in a slow, continuous, smouldering curl of smoke.
Place the cone on a glowing charcoal piece inside a traditional censer or heat-proof holder. The ambient heat of the ember gently volatilises the spice oils in a controlled, clean burn.
Place directly on the warm plate of any electric bakhoor burner or incense warmer. No flame, no smoke visible — just a slow, sustained diffusion of spice fragrance into your space.
A note on usage: Mother Incense Cones do not self-ignite — they require a charcoal ember or an electric bakhoor burner to release their fragrance. This is by design: by removing charcoal from the cone itself, the only thing burning is the spice blend, giving you a cleaner, purer aromatic experience.
